The Tiger

The tiger (Phantera Tigris) is in danger of extiction for the furtive hunt, the enviromental changes and the fragmentation of the population, normally hunters kill tigers for their skins. It weights between 181-258 kg (in the case of males, the females weight half) and usually have a size of 2-3 meters long. The tiger lives in places with humidity and much vegetation, for example in Asia Africa and India. It has got white and black or brown stripes on an orange layer, but the white tiger hasn´t got the orange layer. Most of tigers have some degre of colour vision and they have got big fangs and paws. The life explectancy of the tiger is between 10-15 years, it is predator and it is a distant cousin of the cat.

The Florida panther

The Florida Panther(puma concolor coryi) is Florida's state animal. It is an endegered animal because the humans hunt it to get its skin. Now, in Florida there are about 80 panthers in the wild. The Florida Panther is also knows as mountain lion.

The tree kangaroo

The tree kangaroo is a pacific animal. It is endareged because they are hunted for their meat and also because their forests are dissapearing. They live on trees and they can jump and climb very well. They are vegetarians but sometimes they eat young birds. They can live 14 to 20 years in captivity. They have got a characteristic tail, usually brown or yellow, with stripes.

THE JAGUAR

The jaguar is mammal and carnivorous. The jaguar is black on the ground-colour of the fur and the golden-red tan.The weigth range is 45-100kg and a big jaguar can manage to measure up to 1.7m of length, with a height in the shoulders of 75 cm. They live in sylvan (wooden) zones. The jaguar is in danger for the excessive hunt and the deforestation of his habitat.

THE GRAY WOLF

The gray wolf is in danger of extincion because hunters kill them to sell their skins. It´s a mammal, one of the biggest mammals in the world. They live in packs of 25 members more or less. Their colour changes depending where they live: brown in Mexico, white in Alaska etc...

The females are 10 kilogrames lighter than males. Males are very big they weight 80 kilos, and there are some people who say that in Russia there are wolves of 110 kilogrames.

THE KOALA BEAR

The scientific name of koala is phascolarctos cinereous.
The females weight 8.5kg and the males weight 12kg in New Gales.
The colour of the body of the koala is grey.
The body is fat, which is covered by a thick and soft fur. The head is large and round. It has large and rounded hairy ears. They have short legs with large feet that have five fingers ; In addition, each finger has a strong and large grip.
The koala size 76 cm.
The koala is easy observed in the eucalyptus forests.
The young koala feeds on a kind of porridge the mother produced by the anus.
Their reproduction lasts twenty two months.
The koala has one puppy for year, and rarely two puppies.
The puppies stay for six months in the pouch of her mother.
Some estimates set the average life of a koala in the wild in about 10 years.
They live in flocks in the Australian forest and are very sensitive to any change in the environment.
Pollution, construction, expansion of agriculture and livestock, the population explosion and the felling of trees threaten their natural environment.
The koala is in danger of extinction because of hunting intensive too.

Snow leopard (Panthera uncial or uncia uncial)

The snow leopard is a very beautiful animal. This animal is in danger by the humans that kill them for their fur to do coats.
The snow leopard lives in very cold places and they are very adapted.
It eats small rodents like the rabbit and others similars.
This animal isn't aggressive but neither is very peaceful.We can find it in the Himalaya.

WOMBAT (vombatus)

The wombat is an australian marsupial and it's herbivore. It's short legged muscula cuadripeds. It is aproximately one metre long. The wombat's a nocturnal animal. It looks like a pig but it is smaller and more beautiful.The name wombat comes from the Eora Aboriginal community who were the originals inhabitants of Sydney area. It's preyed on by the tasmanian devil.

The american crocodile

The american crocodile (cocodrylus acutus) is an animal that lives in Atlantic an Pacific coasts (southern of Mexico). It weight is 1,200 kg; It has a size of 5 metres; It colour is dark green, but his abdomen is white; It has membrans to protect his eyes.

The courtship of american crocodiles are divided in three phases: First, they must attract a female, and, if the female is interested, the female arch the male's tail; the next phase is the pair formation and the last phase is the copulation.

The american crocodile is a hunter animal. They eat some animals, like zebras; also they eat some insects and some beings that live in the water. The American crocodile is a carnivorous animal.

The american crocodile prefers the places like river mounths, brackish (salty) waters, salt lakes... and other places that can be wet. The american crocodile is an animal that we must protect.

The aye-aye is an endangered species that lives in Madagascar. It is endangered due to many reasons, among them, that its habitat is being destroyed. But its main risk is that it is a very ugly animal!. Because its ugliness, natives see it as a devil or as the symbol of death, and kill it.
